The two year olds of Neighborhood Schoolhouse call the Starling classroom home! With a focus on encouraging independence, learners are encouraged to be inquisitive about the world around them. We spend ample time outside exploring nature during all weather and seasons. Child-led art projects allow the children to enhance their creativity as well as have interesting sensory experiences. We build community within our classroom through sharing in song and dance during our daily circle time.
"This age is so exciting as we help children learn and develop beyond the baby/toddler years. Children are natural learners and we encourage this through practicing emergent curriculum, allowing children to guide us in what they would like to learn. Play is in every corner of our classroom, through stations encouraing physical play, dramatic play, creative play, and open-ended play. We share in a nurturing, respectful relationship with the children in our class and love watching them as they grow." - Kristina and Randii
